Catch Up

What's New?

Hey guys!

So it's been a while but I had no time to write anything, the past year has been hectic. I am almost finished my exams and I leave school in a week! Time has flown by and I literally can't believe I am leaving school. I'm not ready - I'm not old enough to make life choices!

When I start college in September - after my lovely 3 month summer holidays - I am doing a Level 3 BTEC Health and Social course and 2 A Levels - English Literature and Biology (hopefully.) I am extremely excited to start my next journey and start to train to be what I want to do in life.

I also have recently started a diet and exercising. I did this to improve my body confidence. Before now I never really bothered with exercise or eating healthily - it's my body and I am happy. Every single body is beautiful anyway - I just wanted to improve my self confidence and actually prove to myself that I have the drive and commitment to do it.

I have already lost 2lbs in such a short amount of time which makes me extremely happy and proud of myself. I am so ready to start this journey and see where this can take me.

I have also recently decided to travel to Australia next summer for a month with my Mum and brother. We are staying with my Mum's friend and I get to see my old friend who moved there 3 years ago! Although it's going to be their winter when I go it's going to be like British Summer so I will be warm and hopefully - fingers crossed - get a tan. I can't wait to go and explore their way of life, the sights and hold a koala!

I want to travel a lot more but first I need to get earning! I love new sights and exploring and seeing where the wind can take you. I'm excited for the future - which I never usually say or think. It's a weird prospect and so surreal that everything is happening and going great.

I have 3 months off so expect more of these blogs! I hope that every time I write one it's like this! Warm, sunny and just not a British summer!

See you soon!

Revision Tips

Revision Tips

So most teenagers in the next few weeks will be cramming revision into their free time and going crazy with stress. Whether you have tests, mock exams, real exams or finals you will probably be trying to figure out exam timetables and how to work yourself without being stressed, and as this is National Revision Week it's the perfect time. So here's my tips:

- Make a revision timetable.
Honestly timetables make revision so much easier and you can actually plan around activities and commitments and breaks. To get my revision timetable I made one online and it scheduled breaks and it would schedule around holidays and other commitments. I used the website www.getrevising.co.uk This will give you ideas on how long you want to spend revising each subject. It would also help if you made a timetable for the classes you have during your exam period to revise for. For example if you've already done your exam for that subject yet have free study time you can plan for revision of the exams you've yet got to sit.

- Take Regular Breaks
This is actually really important because if you try to study non-stop nothing will go in and you'll struggle to remember things. Luckily if you make a revision timetable on the website I did, it schedules breaks. It's best to study for an hour and take an hour or half hour break.

- Drink lots of water
Water is better for you than caffene related drinks such as energy drinks or tea and coffee. Water has been proven to help the brain perform better in situations. It's also healthier for you than caffene drinks and will help you stay more focused.

- Exercise
Exercising in breaks such as a short run, will help you feel more focused and healthier which will help you perform better. This will also be better for you in the long run as running or exercise will keep you fit and healthy.

- Don't withdraw yourself from society
Don't shut yourself off from the world and not go outside to see friends. Plan a time to go out and visit them so you can still breathe fresh air and interact with other humans. This could just be to hang out or it could be to study together.

- Don't neglect all revision to last minute
If you neglect all these responsibilities to the day before or the day of the exam the information isn't likely to stick in your mind. If you want to revise before the exam to have it fresh in your mind, that may be helpful but you'll need to revise previous to this.

- Do something you love
Doing a hobby or activity you love to do inbetween your revision periods you will feel less stressed and more calm about the entire situation. If you're not stressed you are more likely to remember the things you've studied and do better on tests and exams.

I hope these helped you in some way, shape or form and I wish you the very best of luck on all your exams and tests and finals. Honestly if you follow these tips your stress will be reduced and you will feel a lot more ready to sit your exams and confident you will do your best. You don't have to be perfect. Just try your best.

Good Luck,
Hannah x

Body Shop Sweet Lemon Beautifying Oil Review

Body Shop Sweet Lemon Beautifying Oil Review

I always end up writing these late at night but oh well.

Hey guys,

My friend, Lydia recently celebrated Present day. Present day is a holiday for Jehovah's Witnesses. As she can't celebrate birthdays and Christmas like I do we decided to buy each other presents for her holiday a few years back.

This year she got me the Body Shop Sweet Lemon Beautifying Oil, some candles and two bracelets.

I have used this oil on my skin and it instantly left soft, sweet smelling skin with a none greasy residue with only a few drops. This lasted for a few hours and kept my skin feeling great.

However on the packaging it also says it can be used on your hair but when I did, applying a few drops to wet hair and blow drying, it left it looking and feeling greasy and I felt as if I needed to wash it again. However if you use at the tips in long hair it can give a great finish :)

Overall I give this product a 3/5. If you do buy this product don't use it in your hair, otherwise it is perfect :)

They don't actually sell the Lemon one anymore but they have a range of various flavours such as strawberry and cocoa butter.

Don't forget to smile :)

Smile Project

Smile Project

This is here to hopefully inspire someone today.

If you don't know me, Hi I'm Hannah! I'm usually quite a happy person but like most people I go through shit and have ways to deal with it. This is not about me.

This is a message hopefully to get you thinking about other people.

Last year when my Dad's (now ex) girlfriend got diagnosed with cancer I was the first person aside my dad who knew. I wasn't allowed to tell anyone which brought down a lot of pressure to me and evidently I broke into sobs.

A few days later I finally cracked and told a few of my friends obviously knowing they'd keep a secret.
One of them asked me about my life that night where I admitted about her cancer and my fears and my bullying and everything.

She asked me how I coped with all the shit going on in my life. How I managed to still go to school with a smile on my face and make others smile and laugh.

Here's what I told her; I live to make others happy. Whether its through a lame joke or a nick name or a silly comment. In anyway I can. Even if I can smile at someone passing by to make them feel like at least one person cares I do it.

I told her that one day I wanted to inspire people. I wanted people to look at me and say you know what I didn't give up because of you. I was happy today because of you. I did something good today because of your influence.

I live by the motto 'Don't let the world change your smile, use your smile to change the world.'

So here's what I'm trying to tell you. In anyway possible try to make someone smile today, this week. Thus creating the smile project. You could comment telling me about it, send me a message. Tweet it to me, DM me on @HannahMay356 or use #SmileProject to spread the word.

Smile at someone you walk by in the street. You never know a simple smile could save a life.

Give someone a compliment. That could block out their negative thinking.

Offer someone support who's in great need. They're gonna need you.

Tell someone a joke. That laughter could be the only thing getting them through the day.

It's the little things in life that mean the most to people.

So please even if one person takes this on board and I can inspire them to help make people smile I will be happy myself knowing I have created a difference to our society.

Anyway enjoy your day and keep your head up and smile beautiful.

You're worth everything you have.

Be someone else's sunshine. Be the reason someone else smiles today.

I love you

Hannah xx

p.s You are somebody's reason to smile.

p.p.s Don't forget to smile today beautiful, it looks good on :)

Elsa Hair Tutorial Frozen

So today I tried out Elsa's french braid from frozen and I'm pretty pleased with the results :)
Here's a step by step guide with pictures.

                                                      Step 1
Curl the top part of your hair. It could be with tongs, heated rollers, velcro rollers but this step isn't necessary it just creates more volume in the front. Of course with using heat on your hair you're going to need to use heat protector. I used Style Expertise defense protecting heat styling spray from Superdrug and the Lee Stafford Nourishing Argan Oil Big Fat Hair Tongs. I got mine at Argos. These create more voluminous and big curls which is perfect for volume.

Step 2
Tease the front of your hair in 1 inch sections to create more volume. If you didn't do the first step you're gonna want to focus on this step. I just used my brush.
 Step 3
Start french braiding the back of you hair. To french braid you start off with 3 pieces of hair as normal then as you go add more hair to each side after crossing over. After all of your hair is in the braid you want to continue the braid to the front before securing it with an elastic at the end of the braid.

Step 4

To create Elsa's braid you're going to want to pull apart the braid loosening it to make it look fuller.

Step 5
You now going to want to take bits out at the front to create the wisps and run them to the back of your head. To keep all this in place hairspray is your best friend. As I don't have any and I like the way the wisps looked I skipped the hairspray.

To finish off the braid you might want to accessorize like Elsa's braid. If not you're done.

Please comment if this helped you or tweet your pictures of the braid to my twitter @HannahMay356

Please comment if you want me to do more like this and please follow my blog :)

Thank you

Idols

Idols: an image or representation of a god used as an object of worship.

The people we idolise and love...

Mine are these guys.... The Janoskians. They make me smile and laugh through anything. My sunshine is Luke. The one in the gif. I can't even begin to describe why I love him but I do.

People don't understand us these days.. By us I mean fangirls... Fanboys.. They think liking a
certain band or youtuber is a phase and it won't last forever. What they don't understand or
underestimate is out love for these people and how far we would go just for a follow from them
on a social media site.

I want to give everyone this message..

NEVER make fun of somebody's Idol
because that might be the only thing keeping
them alive.

Our Idols change the way we view the world and they change our lives. In some cases they
keep us strong or save our lives but they all make us happy. Without my idols I don't know
what I'd do, what I'd be like or even if I'd have the friends I have now.

The smallest thing to them in the world such as a follow, or a hug will mean the world to us. I got followed by 3 of my idols and even if they never reply I just feel glad they are there. They are like my safety blanket I know I can fall back on them.

Being in a fandom is the best thing. You are a family. You and your idol are a family. You all
share the same interests and you can make lifelong friends you can rely on. The family is
always there for you and your always there for them and that's what makes it work.

Fri[end]
Girlfri[end]
Boyfri[end]
Fam[ily]

And in a fandom we will always love each other and our idols no matter what.

So next time you judge someone for their idols or fandom just remember they are a family and
they keep each other strong... or alive.

'Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind.'
